Network Coverage

Network coverage is of great importance for your new mobile broadband contract as once you have purchased it there is no going back. We reccommend you check each individual site and use their postcode checkers to find how good signal strength is.

Data allowance

Mobile broadband starts at 1gb and rises to 10gb per month and so it is essential to think about how and what you will use your mobile broadband for. Whether it be simple browsing and the occassional email or if it is streaming of video content on a daily basis.

Below is the average size of various online activities:

1-3Kb - text emails sent and received
60Kb - 1 website page
3-4Mb - 1 song or 3 min video clip
500Mb - 1 film download

With this information you can easily work out how much you will use in any given month. As a rough guide, 1gb is for light use for web browsing and text emails. 3gb for viewing small clips and light downloading. 5gb for heavier downloads and more frequent media viewing online. 12 Month Contract - Possibility of changing the contract depending on new technology

18 Month Contract - Cheap bills and more allowance but longer contract to compensate

24 Month Contract - Alot more cheaper bills and free laptop but reliability of the hardware may not withstand 24 months
